There are a couple of easy ways to connect to the BDSMIreland chat

• BDSMIreland chat on bondage.com uses a java enabled client, but the settings will have to be changed for channel #bdsmireland and this would only be available to those who have logged into the site. use /part to get to the settings and use the connect button once the settings have been changed.
• use www.spanky.cx where a java client will connect you automatically.
• Java Chat Client

the more traditional way is to use a IRC client. (Internet Relay Chat)

IRC Configuration Notes

These notes are adapted from the online help site for the Macintosh IRC client , IRCLE. Even though your software may be different, the server, network and channel names will still apply. The software can be downloaded from

and the help pages are at

After installing and starting up ircle, you will see several windows appear. In order to configure your chat session, you need to look at the Connections window first.

The server you need is not in the connection list, so click the Server ... button, then choose Add... in the Server List window.

* Enter irc.bondage.com in the Server Name field, leave (or set) the default port to 6667, and choose UnderNet as the Network.

Double-click on the new entry in the Connection window. The Connection Preferences window will appear:

• Enter a Nickname - the name you want to be known by when chatting;
• Enter a Username - optional.
• Enter your Real name - also optional but could be set to your email address.

* It's probably a good idea to remove the "Auto-connect to server" check-mark. Click OK to close the Connection Preferences window.When your server and personal details have been set-up you can connect to a server:

* Select the server you want in the Connections window. Click the Connect button.

After a short pause, the Console window will display the servers's information and message of the day. When this is complete you are ready to join a channel.

Choose Join... from the Commands menu which will open the Join dialog box.

• Type the name of the channel you wish to join ... in this case #bdsmireland.
• No password is required in this case so click OK to join the channel.
